HRT PPCs do not cover all HRT medicines. If you use an HRT PPC to collect a medicine that is not covered, you may receive a penalty charge.
The medicines are listed A to Z by the product name. This is the brand name the manufacturer gives their medicine.
Generic versions of these medicines are also covered if the generic drug name shows on the prescription. The generic drug name is usually the name of the active ingredient in the medicine.
This list is correct as of 1 August 2024 and is subject to change.
You can find the name of your medicine on the prescription or the medicine packaging.
Note: This item is a free of charge contraceptive and no prescription charge is applicable even if prescribed to treat menopause
HRT PPCs only cover HRT medicines that are also licensed to treat the menopause in the UK.
If your HRT medicine is covered but you take it for reasons other than the menopause, you can still use an HRT PPC.
